Our contact details are:

2. Personal information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
- identity and contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number and business or organisation;
- service-enquiry details, including vessel information, port or location, required work, timing, photographs, technical information and communications with us;
- brokerage and vessel-sale submission information, including vessel specifications, registration or identification details, ownership-related information, asking price, condition details, photographs and documents you choose or are asked to provide;
- transaction and administration information, such as quotes, invoices, payment status, service history and records needed for our business or legal obligations;
- records of consent, preferences and requests, including marketing opt-ins and opt-outs;
- website, security and bot-protection information, such as IP address, browser type and technical device characteristics, request logs, automated verification tokens generated through Cloudflare Turnstile, and cookie or session identifiers where used.
We do not intentionally collect sensitive information unless it is reasonably necessary for a legitimate function or activity and collection is permitted by law. Please do not send identity documents, financial account details or other sensitive material through a general enquiry unless we have specifically requested it through an appropriate channel.
3. How we collect personal information
We usually collect information directly from you when you submit a form, upload vessel information or images, email or call us, request a quote, engage us for services, or communicate with us about a listing.
We may also receive information from a person you have authorised, a vessel owner or representative, a referrer, a supplier or contractor involved in work you requested, or a publicly available source where collection is lawful and reasonably necessary for our activities.
Where required, we provide a collection notice at or before the time of collection. If you do not provide information reasonably required for an enquiry, service or brokerage assessment, we may be unable to respond fully, prepare a quote, provide the requested service, or assess or publish a vessel listing.
4. Why we collect, hold and use it
We may use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and communicate with you;
- assess, quote, schedule, coordinate and provide marine services;
- assess a vessel for brokerage and, where agreed, prepare and manage a listing;
- coordinate suppliers, contractors, surveyors, transport, accommodation or other services requested by you;
- administer accounts, payments, records, insurance matters and business operations;
- protect our website, forms, systems, staff, customers and business from misuse, fraud, automated spam and bot abuse (including via Cloudflare Turnstile bot verification);
- meet legal, regulatory, insurance and record-keeping obligations;
- send direct marketing only where permitted and consistent with your consent or other lawful basis.
We do not sell personal information.
5. When we disclose personal information
We may disclose relevant personal information, on a need-to-know basis, to:
- our personnel and authorised contractors;
- marine trades, suppliers, manufacturers, service partners, surveyors, marinas, ports, transport or accommodation providers where needed to carry out a request;
- website hosting, email, storage, cybersecurity and bot-protection service providers (including Cloudflare, Inc.), backup and other technology providers;
- professional advisers, insurers, accountants, banks and payment-service providers;
- regulators, law-enforcement bodies, courts or other persons where disclosure is required or authorised by law;
- another party to a proposed or completed business transfer, where lawful and subject to appropriate protections.
For vessel brokerage, we may publish vessel details and images that are approved for listing. We do not publish a seller’s private contact details merely because a vessel has been submitted; publication of personal contact information requires a clear reason and appropriate authority.
Where our website displays industry membership logos (such as the Boating Industry Association of Victoria / BIAV) or brand names of marine equipment manufacturers, these entities are independent third parties that own their respective trademarks. We do not disclose your personal information or enquiry details to these organizations unless you explicitly ask us to do so or where necessary to complete a service you specifically requested.
6. Direct marketing
An enquiry, quote request or vessel submission does not by itself mean that you agree to receive unrelated marketing. Where we seek express consent for email or SMS marketing, we use a separate, clear opt-in.
Marketing messages we send will identify the sender and provide a functional way to unsubscribe. We process unsubscribe requests in accordance with applicable Australian spam laws. You can also ask us at any time to stop using your details for direct marketing by contacting us.
8. Overseas service providers and disclosures
Some technology or specialist service providers may operate infrastructure or personnel outside Australia. For instance, our bot-protection and cybersecurity provider, Cloudflare, Inc., operates a global content and security network across Australia, the United States, and other global regions. Where personal information or technical security telemetry is handled by an overseas recipient and the Privacy Act applies, we take the steps required by applicable law, including reasonable steps under APP 8 where relevant.
Where it is practicable to identify the countries in which likely overseas recipients are located, we will keep that information current in this policy or in a linked service-provider notice. Our production hosting, email, backup, security and third-party integration settings are reviewed as part of this assessment.
9. Security and retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps appropriate to the circumstances to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes for which it was collected, our legitimate business and record-keeping requirements, dispute management, insurance or legal obligations. When information is no longer required and the law permits, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
We maintain processes for responding to suspected data breaches. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies and a breach meets the statutory threshold, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required.
10. Access to and correction of your information
You may ask us to provide access to personal information we hold about you or to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
There may be lawful reasons why we cannot provide access to some information. If that occurs, we will explain the reason where required and available review or complaint options.
11. Privacy questions and complaints
Send privacy questions, access or correction requests, or complaints to services@meghamarine.com.au with “Privacy” in the subject line, or write to us at 64 Sunny St, Sunbury VIC 3429, Australia.
We will investigate the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable period (ordinarily within 30 days). If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) via www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
12. Children
Our website and services are directed to adults and businesses. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through general website forms. If a child’s information is relevant to a legitimate service request, we will handle it with regard to the circumstances and applicable law.
13. Automated decisions
At the date of this policy, we do not arrange for a computer program to make, or substantially and directly assist in making, decisions using personal information that could reasonably be expected to significantly affect an individual’s rights or interests.
If that changes, we will update this policy to describe the relevant kinds of personal information and decisions in accordance with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the APP 1 automated-decision transparency obligations commencing on 10 December 2026 where they apply.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices, systems, service providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this website with its effective date.
